The Greenes of Boone, NC are one of America's top Southern
Gospel trios. It all started as a family group in the mountains of
Appalachia in 1978. Brothers Tim and Tony, sister Kim along with dad,
Everette, playing the piano.
This dynamic trio had their first top 40 song,
Gloryland, in 1983 and there have been 21 others break the charts since
then. Five number one songs have come from this ministry in the 24 years of
service. The group still travels today more than ever, from California to
Carolina, Florida to Michigan, all through the Bahamas and Canada you can
see and hear The Greenes who sing at over 200 concerts and church services
each year.
Kim left the group in 1989 after marrying Dean Hopper
of The Hoppers and joining their group. Amy Lambert came and sang with Tim
and Tony and did a great job with the success of the hit "They Shall Never
Crucify HIM Again" and other hits also. She was with the group 5 years, then
the LORD sent Milena Parks and she did a tremendous work with the great
chart topper, "The Blood Covered It All".
Another 5 years passed and Taranda Kiser was sent by
the LORD to the trio and she is here to stay after marrying Tony Greene on
February 1,2001 and making the group a family again. After hits like,
“Miracle In Me”, “When I knelt The Blood Fell”, and most recently, “Glorious
City of GOD” and “I'm So Happy”.
The Greenes are still recording and singing some of the
hottest gospel music today. Every year, during the second week of August,
The Greenes host the largest outdoor Gospel Music event in NC. It's called
the Gospel Singing Jubilee, featuring The Greenes and more than 25 major
artists in Southern Gospel Music. The Greenes travel consistently Thursday
through Saturday each week only taking off 2 weeks each year. The future
looks bright with the year 2002 marking the 25th anniversary for The Greenes'
ministry.
The LORD has given Tim many new wonderful songs to keep
The Greenes singing for years to come. Catch this exciting trio in Southern
Gospel Music when they're in your area. Their albums are in major bookstores
too. Don't miss The Greenes on national TV, on TNN, on The Gaither Music
Hour, and on many of the Gaither shows in cities around the USA. The Greenes’
new album, Glory Mountain, is available in August and features many new
great songs. Some of them written by Tim from his near death experience and
his trip to the Holy Land.
The Greenes are a ministry first and an opportunity is
always given to the audience to accept CHRIST as their Saviour. Pray for The
Greenes as they keep on keeping on for JESUS. |
